Ashigram High School is located in Sisaiya, Ward 9 of Shuklaphanta Municipality in the Kanchanpur district of Nepal. Originally founded as a primary school in 1989, it has grown into a high school that now serves several surrounding communities. Today, 316 students attend the school, many of whom come from low-income families.

Most of the students come from historically disadvantaged communities, including Tharu and Dalit families, where access to education and resources has often been limited. While some families in the region are able to send their children to schools in larger cities, many local families depend on Ashigram High School to provide their children with the opportunity to learn and build a better future.
Although the school has land and basic facilities, it currently does not have a library. Students and teachers have very limited access to books and learning materials, making it difficult for students to explore new subjects, grow academically, and develop a love for reading.
With access to reading materials and educational resources, students at Ashigram High School will be able to strengthen their learning, explore new ideas, and develop skills that will help them pursue brighter futures. Teachers will also benefit from the library by gaining access to materials that can support their lesson planning and help them better guide and inspire their students.
Beyond the classroom, the library will become a place where the wider community can gather to learn and grow. By opening its doors to local families, it can help encourage a culture of learning that reaches people of all ages. In a region where educational resources are limited compared to larger cities, this library will help bridge that gap and provide students with tools that can expand their opportunities.
With the support of partners and donors, this project can become a reality, creating a space where students can learn and grow for the future. What may seem like a simple building filled with books has the power to become a place of hope and opportunity, impacting generations of students and strengthening the entire community.
